In Modern day, Washing machine designs vary widely with different company but there are some things that all washing machines have in common. All washing machines have an electric motor and both spin and agitate cycles. Since both cycles are driven by the same electric motor, all washing machines have some sort of mechanism to change between the two. All washing machines must also have a way of filling the tub with water and a way of draining out used water.
All washing machines must have a way of maintaining water level in the tub, to prevent overfill or by centrifugal force during the spin cycle. Washing Machines must have a mechanism that brakes the spinning basket at the end of the spin cycle, or else a lid lock to prevent the lid from being opened during or shortly after the spin cycle.
And last but not least, all washing Machines must have a timer that controls and coordinates the start, stop and duration of the various mode cycles. All these electronic mechanism gets some sort of error and repair during usage of washing machine.
