Anchor Text in SEO

Anchor text is a part of SEO which helps in optimizing the targetted keyword. This carries the importance of the targeted keywords in the web page. Anchor text is created using anchor tag.

Anchor Text are usually created for navigation purpose. It guides other webpages from a web page. In this process we create a link to the text. The text which is kept as a link gets some importance. Google analyses these text links in the pages. If we use the targetted keywords as the link then it will helps our webpages for quick optimization in google search engine.

Example:

<a href=http://www.quickheed.com> anchor text seo </a>

Here we created a link to the text anchor text seo.

This type of links increases the importance of targeted keyword of that page.

Anchor texts are used to create links like Inbound links and Outbound links

Importance of anchor text in seo:

We can create links to other web pages of other website. Which are called as OUTBOUND LINK. Similarly we can create links to the other pages of our websites. We create links to other pages by creating links to the targeted text of that page.

Example:

I have website related to dog. (www.dog.com)
The website has 3 pages are. Let

www.dog.com/dogbreed.html (page 1)
www.dog.com/dogfood.html (page 2)
www.dog.com/puppies.html (page 3)

In the page www.dog.com/dogbreed.html, I want to create a link in this page to the other page(www.dog.com/puppies.html).

So I create a link in the page 1 as <a href=http://www.dog.com/puppies.html> PUPPIES </a>. This type of links adds importance to the page 3 (www.dog.com/puppies.html)

This is one way of linking to the other pages of our website through anchor text in seo.

Internal page links increases the importance of targeted keyword in that page. This is very helpful in ONPAGE SEO. In seo anchor text plays a very important role. But lot of links is avoided. More than 100 links in page is considered as spam by Google.
